Sunday, June 1, 2025: Readings & Responsorial Psalm & Gospel
Each day, the Mass readings invite us into a deeper encounter with God. Through Scripture, we hear His voice speaking to our hearts, guiding us, comforting us, and calling us to a life of holiness. The Word of God is not just a story from the past; it is alive, relevant, and transformative.
Every reading is an opportunity for grace. Some days, the words challenge us to grow; other days, they console us in our struggles. But always, they nourish our souls, strengthening our faith and drawing us closer to Christ.
Let us open our hearts to the Word of God daily. May we not just hear it but live it, allowing it to shape our actions and deepen our love for Him. Lord, speak to us today, and help us to follow You more faithfully. Amen.
Reflection
“Christ has many members, but one body. Out of compassion for us he descended from heaven, and although he ascended alone, we also ascend, because we are in him by grace” (Saint Augustine)
“The Lord draws the gaze of the Apostles -our gaze- toward Heaven to show how to travel the road of good during earthly life. We can hear, see and touch our Lord Jesus in the Church, especially through the word and the sacraments” (Benedict XVI)
“Christ permanently exercises his priesthood in heaven, for he always lives to make intercession for those who draw near to God through him. As ‘high priest of the good things to come’ (Hb 9:11) he is the centre and the principal actor of the liturgy that honours the Father in heaven” (Catechism Of The Catholic Church, Nº 662)
Saint of the Day
Using human reason to understand the divine: many saints in the Church have taken this path as they try to comprehend God’s existence. Among of the first of these was St. Justin, martyred in 165 AD. His feast day is June 1.
